The mountain west has a very active tango scene, with wonderful dancers, multiple local instructors, weekly milongas, and fantastic venues.  Southern Arizona is within an eight hour drive from San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, and El Paso, all of which have vibrant tango communities.  Flights to destinations such as Houston, Denver, and San Francisco are easy to book and normally involve travel times of less than 6 hours.  Many of the dancers from Southern Arizona regularly attend events in all these cities.
